"There must be a better way to inform the campus community"

e2Campus is a service by Omnilert, LLC. Omnilert develops and markets the leading selective mass notification system for sending time-sensitive information to large groups of people. With e2Campus, a single person can communicate important information to thousands of people anywhere, anytime, on any device. Omnilert is headquartered in the Washington, DC metro area in Northern Virginia.

Our Story

e2Campus was conceived in late 2003 when the company founders read a story about a female student who was horrifically raped in murdered in her dormitory in 1987. The article revealed that one key factor in the incident was that had the student been informed about the criminal on campus, this tragedy may have been prevented.

This sparked the idea that became e2Campus, "there must be a better way to communicate with the campus community. Since most students carry mobile phones, we can alert them via text messages"

The founders ran this new idea by a local community college (Anne Arundel Community College) and they agreed to pilot the program. In the Fall of 2004, AACC launched e2Campus and became the first campus in North America to use a text mass notification system. Three years later over 300 colleges and universities are using e2Campus in a mission to make their campuses safer through instant mass communications.

Push public safety information to everyone, everywhere in seconds

"Even when the networks become jammed and can't handle voice calls after use spikes during a catastrophe, the relatively few bytes of data in text messages usually get through.

It's a no-brainer: Wireless text should be the basis for an emergency information system."
