While mass notification has focused on the outbound broadcast of important information, enabling members of the community to conveniently provide information back to school officials is just as important.

uTip allows anyone in your community to alert school officials, security, dispatch, the PSAP and/or others simply by sending an SMS text message from a standard cell phone.

Anyone in your community can use the service to report suspicious activities they see at school or around campus, such as theft, vandalism, drugs, domestic disputes, disorderly sports fans, and more. In a K12 environment, uTip serves as an excellent anti-bullying solution. The service is so fast, school officials can catch bullies in the act.

Communication can be configured to be anonymous, allowing uTipsters to send in tips without the fear or risk of retribution. uTip can also be used to help prevent crimes on campus by reporting incidents before they escalate, and by helping campus safety spot wanted individuals.

Tipsters do not need to be registered with the e2Campus emergency notification system for uTip to work, so anyone in the surrounding neighborhoods or town can text a tip using the service.
